Bahrain’s real estate sector has entered the digital era with the launch of a centralized online platform that will serve as the Kingdom’s main source of information.
Aqari, the national real estate data bank, has announced on behalf of His Royal Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in the presence of Survey & Land Ltd. It was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Al Khalifa. Shaikh Salman bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Director General of the Registration Board (SLRB) and Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy.
The ceremony, held at Al Capita Building in Bahrain Bay, was attended by Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), ministers, government officials and senior officials.
Containing comprehensive and up-to-date information on Bahrain’s real estate sector, ‘Aqari’ provides all stakeholders with the information they need to support sound decision-making.
Shaikh Khalid said ‘Akali’ is expected to boost the real estate sector in the country.
“This portal embodies the Kingdom’s interest in developing systems and implementing cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence,” he said.
“This is also in line with the goals of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad.
“The first-of-its-kind platform was established to respond to the needs of customers in this sector and provide information with complete transparency and accuracy in a way that increases the success rate of real estate projects and reduces the level of risk. I did.”
The website (aqari.rera.gov.bh) includes an interactive map showing details such as property name, number and year of construction.
It is operated and updated by RERA in collaboration with several government agencies such as Department of Information and e-Government, Department of Power and Water, and Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning.
“This work took about four years to create,” said Sheikh Mohammed.
“For years, we have been a trusted national source for real estate information, a one-stop shop where people interested in a particular property can find information about that property without actually going to the location. I’ve been looking for a website.
“And now that the project is complete, everything is available to stakeholders at the click of a button.”
Shaikh Mohammed said the databank aims to contribute to Bahrain’s sustainability goals and revitalize the real estate sector.
“We wanted to create a sustainable real estate sector that could support the economic sector,” he said.
“This site leverages artificial intelligence and real estate technology to provide information that facilitates investment.
“This project is the first of its kind in the Middle East and we are proud of the fact that we utilized local talent to complete it.”
