An outdoor advertisement of a brand selling rasam paste in Karnataka has gone viral, sparking a debate on social media. After a photo of the ad was shared on X, several people called it “sexist”. But several others said they had no problems.
A snapshot of the ad was shared by Tejas Dinkar on X. In the caption of the post, he wrote, “Today’s ads manage to be sexist while insulting both North and South Indians.” The ad says: “Is your wife North Indian?” Rasam in seconds!

This post was shared on January 4th. It has received nearly 200,000 views since it was shared. The post has over 2,000 likes and numerous comments. Many people were shocked to see this ad, with some asking, “What’s sexist about this ad?”
