These days, foodies seem to be indulging in adventure, trying out unexpected food combinations, from delightful surprises to questionable concoctions. Recently, food combinations like chocolate momos and mango Maggi have been in the news, causing mixed reactions from people. Delhi’s latest culinary experiment is Dhokla His Chaat, which combines traditional Gujarati cuisine with chaat flavors. A video shared by the popular foodie vlogger showed him enjoying a ‘dessert’ of dhokla chaat. In the video, the dish is visually appealing with bright colors and a generous coating of milky-creamy sauce, leaving the vlogger guessing: “Is this a dish or a savory?” The video sparked mixed reactions online, with some claiming that Delhi was “ruining Dokla”.
In a video posted on Instagram, the vlogger described the dish as “fresh, soft, spongy dhokla”. Layering the flavors with berry chutney, texture-enhancing bits of wasabi, and plenty of sweet dahi, he eagerly bites into it and enthusiastically gives this unconventional creation a thumbs up.

This hurts my religious feelings. People of Delhi don’t even know what dhokla is and now they are ruining non-dhokla like this. pic.twitter.com/YovlaHaJ1A
