Chery Automobile releases Fulwin A8 plug-in hybrid sedan
Chery Automobile, a major player in the Chinese automobile industry, announced the latest plug-in hybrid sedan in its lineup, the Fullwin A8, in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. This new model comes in four variants and starts at 119,900 yuan ($16,810).
Fulwin A8: Detailed overview
The Fullwin A8 is no ordinary compact sedan. With an overall length of 4,780 mm and a wheelbase of 2,790 mm, it is sized to ensure ample interior space. But the highlight of the Fullwin A8 is its powertrain. It is powered by Kunpeng Super Hybrid C-DM system, 5th generation ACTECO 1.5T engine and electric motor. This combination allows the sedan to travel up to 127 kilometers on electric power alone, and more than 1,400 kilometers using both power sources. The fuel efficiency of this car is remarkable, achieving a mileage of 4.2 liters per 100 km. The 1.5T engine produces 115 kilowatts of power and 220 Newton meters of torque, while the electric motor delivers 150 kW and 310 Nm of torque for improved performance.

Prior to the official launch, Chery Automobile showcased the performance of Fulwin A8 at a noteworthy challenge event. The sedan covered the distance from Wuhu in Anhui province to Shenzhen in just 20 hours. This feat demonstrated the car’s superior performance and efficiency, demonstrating a maximum range of 1,624 kilometers and a minimum fuel consumption of 3.48 liters per 100 kilometers.
