The Bahrain Labor Fund (Tamkeen) has announced support for Alumicore, a global leader in aluminum recycling and manufacturing, to establish a new business location in Askal, Bahrain.
This initiative is in line with Tamkeen’s mission to support the industrial sector, which is a key pillar of Bahrain’s national economy and contributes to its growth, particularly aluminum manufacturing, which constitutes a significant part of the Kingdom’s exports.
The partnership will bring cutting-edge international technology in aluminum dross processing to Bahrain, providing local manufacturers with the opportunity to increase operational efficiency, minimize waste and improve profitability.
Alumicor is recognized as an emerging global innovator in the sector, with operations across Bahrain, South Africa, Australia and the Seychelles. The company’s cutting-edge technology has the capacity to recycle more than 48,500 tonnes of aluminum scrap and waste annually, representing approximately half of the aluminum waste generated from Bahrain’s manufacturing operations.
Alumicor’s environmentally friendly recycling technology saves up to 90% of the energy typically consumed in traditional aluminum remanufacturing, thereby reducing emissions and enabling greater amounts of aluminum to be recycled. The text states:
The upcoming facility is expected to create more than 30 new job opportunities for Bahraini professionals, 10 of whom are expected to fill senior management and management positions. It said these opportunities are aimed at honing the expertise of Bahraini professionals in this field and positioning them as employees of choice in specialized and emerging industries.
