Manama – His Excellency Lt. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health and Chairman of the Bahrain Diabetes Association, praised the important role played by banks and financial institutions in supporting humanitarian and charitable efforts. He also acknowledged their contribution to strengthening the national institutions’ efforts to improve the quality of services and healthcare.
The statement was made during a meeting with Dr Waheed Al Qasim, CEO of the Bahrain Bankers Association (BAB), and representatives of contributing banks such as Ahly United Bank, Benefit Company and Innovest. In this regard, His Excellency emphasized the importance of partnership between the private sector and the Bahrain Diabetes Association in fulfilling national and humanitarian responsibilities towards children with diabetes. He highlighted the support and contribution of Ahli United Bank, Benefit and Innovest Company as part of the commendable initiative led by Dr. Waheed Al Qasim, CEO of the Bahrain Bankers Association. This joint effort aims to provide children with diabetes with a glucose sensor that facilitates simple glucose measurements through a simple scanning process. This initiative will enable families and healthcare teams to efficiently monitor blood sugar levels, helping to effectively control and manage diabetes.
During the event, Dr. Waheed Al Qasim praised the commendable and fruitful efforts undertaken by the Bahrain Diabetes Association under the leadership of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy General Counsel. He particularly acknowledged the association’s commitment to raising awareness about diabetes and its support to individuals living with diabetes, exemplified by the series of annual programs and initiatives it hosts.
