AUBURN, Ind. (WAYNE) — On Saturday night, the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automotive Museum partnered with the Eckhardt Public Library to host its annual Bootleggers Ball.
Guests enjoyed an evening of dancing, food, private access to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automotive Museum, a cash bar serving period-themed cocktails, and special exhibits exploring the history of the city of Auburn at the time.
This event has become a staple for the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automotive Museum and the community.
Organizers said the purpose of the ball was to spotlight the heyday of the iconic Duesenberg family, while also educating people about the Prohibition era and how Auburn residents lived. He said the idea was to give people an opportunity to learn more.
“The fact that we’re bringing people here who maybe haven’t been in this building before for reasons like music and events, it’s like we can share our love and excitement for these cars in this building.” We will be building with them,” said Jonah Chrismore, the museum’s director of marking and communications.
While people could enjoy the rich history the museum had to offer, they were also helping to preserve it.
Tickets were $40 for singles and $75 for couples.
Proceeds were used to pay for the upkeep of the museum and all vehicles within the museum.
