Beijing (Gasgoo) – Chinese automaker Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. (Changan Automobile) sold 280,367 vehicles in the first month of 2024, an increase of 63.19% year-on-year.
In January 2024, Changan’s wholly-owned brand sold a total of 241,485 units, an increase of 65.1% over the previous year. Of these, 52,581 were new energy vehicles, an increase of 87.58% from the previous year. Meanwhile, the company’s wholly owned brands also performed well in overseas markets in January, with sales reaching 46,620 units, marking a 160.23% jump year-on-year.

Changan Automobile’s new energy vehicle brand “Deepal” delivered 17,042 units last month, an increase of 177.69% year-on-year, but a month-on-month decrease of 7.07%.
Meanwhile, the luxury car brand “AVATR” jointly developed by Chang’an City with Huawei and CATL broke new monthly deliveries in January, increasing by 15.6% from the previous month to 7,059 units.
Among Changan Automobile’s joint venture brands, Changan Ford sold 20,957 units last month, an increase of 39.47% from the same month last year. At the same time, Changan Mazda’s sales volume increased by 128.83% in January, reaching 9,208 units.
