Yacht, yacht, yacht.
The experts at Ritzy Charters have revealed a list of the 10 most expensive yachts currently sailing. The top three ships are worth a whopping $1.29 billion, more than the GDP of some small countries.
“Luxury yachts are more than just a symbol of wealth. Not only do they offer incredible views, but they also offer a level of privacy for sailors looking for a sense of relaxation that can only be found on ocean-going charters. ” a company spokesperson said in a statement.
Topping the list is media mogul David Geffen’s Rising Sun, valued at an astonishing $590 million.
The superyacht was originally owned by tech mogul Larry Ellison and cost an estimated $200 million to build in 2004. This classy vessel is over 452 feet long and features a basketball court, wine cellar, and even a movie theater.
Mr. Geffen purchased the ship in 2010 and accommodated 18 guests and 55 crew members in 82 rooms.
Next on the list is Coll, owned by none other than Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
This massive three-masted yacht is reportedly worth $500 million and is the largest billionaire’s yacht to sail the high seas using sail power alone.
It features a pool, hot tub, bar, multiple dining spaces and a masthead modeled after the mogul’s fiance, Lauren Sanchez.
In third place is the Eos, owned by fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg and her husband Barry Diller, who bought the ship in 2009 for $200 million, Ritzy Charters reports.
The 305-foot-long superyacht can accommodate up to 14 travelers, complete with a glass staircase, Jacuzzi, and von Furstenberg’s own signage.
The $120 million Venus, owned by Steve Jobs’ widow Laurene Powell, came in fourth at 225 feet tall.
