Germany’s Siemens Energy has made the lowest bid for a major power project in Bahrain in a competition for the contract among three of the world’s leading companies, a Bahraini newspaper reported on Monday.
Siemens has submitted a 292.45 million Bahraini dinar ($760.37 million) bid for the project, which includes a transformer and nuclear reactor factory, to build a 400 kilowatt (kV) power grid substation in the island nation’s Jasra region. , reported the Arabic daily Akbar Al. Khaleej said, citing official sources.
The paper did not identify other bidders, but Bahraini officials said Siemens is vying for the project along with South Korean industrial giant Hyundai Electric & Energy Systems, Japan’s Hitachi Energy and Fuji Electric in early 2023. said.
According to Bahrain Electricity and Water Authority, the transformer and reactor works are among the project work packages to be carried out through international limited tendering.
The scope of work includes the design, manufacture, supply, transportation, assembly, testing and commissioning of four 400/220/21kV, 500MVA autotransformers, three 400kV, 100MVAr feeder reactors, and four 21kV, 25MVAr. Masu. Tertiary reactor of transformer.
