LOWELL — Lowell celebrated its 47th annual Oktoberfest this weekend on Buell Island.
“We had nice weather. We had a decent crowd.” said Oktoberfest Chairman Josh Harris. “It was a fun Oktoberfest.”
Harris estimates a total of 7,000 to 8,000 people attended this weekend’s celebration, which featured 60 to 70 vendors.
Saturday featured Two Buzz and a Slap Box, Jessica Jo and Zumbro and Jesse Forrest, and Sunday featured Braydon Booth, Steve and Bev Pottmeyer, and Rockin’ Country Fever .
“I would like to thank all committee members for their cooperation and the public for their support.” Harris said.
The Oktoberfest committee welcomes new members, he said.
“We always welcome new committee members and new ideas.” Harris said.
Mildred Schwendemann, one of Oktoberfest’s founders, was in Lowell this weekend to see Oktoberfest again.
“It’s really great to have her here.” said Harris. “She’s a great woman who has understood and run this operation for a long time.”
