This week, the Pivot Awards were presented at the annual Commercial Real Estate Summit, hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma Real Estate Program and sponsored by Gardner Tannenbaum. These awards are presented to real estate professionals who have made the most significant advancements in the industry. This year, we awarded her Pivots to project managers, developers, civil servants, lawyers, and appraisers. We are very fortunate to have so many high-quality professionals. Choosing just one for each category can be a difficult task.
The Pivot Award for Real Estate Project Manager was won by Trait Thompson. Trait serves as executive director of the Oklahoma Historical Society. But before taking on that role, he spent six years overseeing the restoration of the state Capitol. The project required a combination of political maneuvering, business management, and historical knowledge. Congratulations Trait!
Matthew Myers won the Pivot Award in the Real Estate Developer category. Matthew He is the owner of Switchgrass Capital. He has been instrumental in the renaissance happening in downtown Edmond. He has developed creative urban design that leverages community engagement and public art, as well as innovative financing methods that utilize tax increment financing and opportunity zones. Thank you, Matthew!
Josh Moore was selected for public service. Josh owns Moore Quality Homes and he served on the Edmond 2nd Ward City Council for four years. Josh has served his community during one of the most difficult times in history, the coronavirus pandemic. Josh has made the most of his time on City Council, creating monumental changes that Edmond residents will benefit from for generations to come. Thank you, Josh!
Rubinstein & Pitts attorney Todd McInnis is known for his work representing developers and property owners in highly complex zoning and property rights matters. Todd can be found many nights speaking at city council meetings and organizing committee meetings throughout Oklahoma. The Pivot Award was presented to MAI’s Darin Dalbom in the Real Estate Appraiser category. Darin is the owner of NPVal LLC. He has over 30 years of experience in commercial real estate valuation and was recently appointed by Governor Kevin Stitt to the Oklahoma Housing Finance Authority Board of Directors. Darling has introduced innovative valuation techniques and pioneering methods for managing the valuation business. Good job, darling!
