Team Victorious rider Shahd Waleed yesterday won the 100km international qualifying race organized by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian Endurance Federation (BREEF) for the start of the 2023-2024 endurance racing season.
The event also included regional qualifying races and junior races and was held at the Bahrain International Endurance Village.
The race took place at night and saw a wide range of participants and smooth operation.
The junior race, which is over 40km long, will be held by the children of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Honorary President of BREEF; It ended with a special ceremony. Bin Hamad Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Vice-Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Affairs, Director-General of the General Authority for Sports, and President of the State Shaikh Khalid bin・Praised the children of His Highness Hamad Al Khalifa. Athletes from the Bahrain Olympic Committee took first and second place.
His Highness Sheikh Faisal bin Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa took first place with a time of 2 hours 51 minutes 52 seconds, followed by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa with a time of 2 hours 51 minutes. He took second place with a time of minutes and 53 seconds.
Third place went to Khalid Al Ruwayeh with a time of 2 hours, 51 minutes, and 53 seconds.
In addition, all other participants in the race were also recognized and honored for their participation.
The junior race attracted a large number of participants, reflecting BREEF’s vision of providing an ideal environment for juniors to provide a promising generation who will carry the banner of Bahrain Endurance Racing in the future.
For Team Victorious, Shahad won in 3:58:43. Her teammates Salman Isa Radhe and Manal Majid also joined her on the podium.
Rady took second place with a time of 5 hours, 39 minutes and 10 seconds, while Manal took third place with a time of 5 hours, 39 minutes and 12 seconds.
In the local 100km race, Al Zaeem’s Asim Abdulwahid came first with a time of 4 hours 16 minutes 25 seconds.
Teammate Jaber Bader took second place with a time of 4:16:26, while Mohamed Isa of Al Ahial Stables took third place with a time of 5:42:59.
In the local 80km race, Yousif Abdulnabi of the Al Safinat stable took first place in 5 hours 30 minutes 29 seconds.
Awal Stable’s Hussain Yonis was second with a time of 5:57.49, and RM Stable’s Mohamed Yasser was third with a time of 5:59.45.
The race had a wide range of participants, with 157 male and female riders from various stables taking part.
Riders from outside Bahrain also participated, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Syria and Pakistan.
