The Bahrain Chapter of the World Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) hosted a gathering at the Crowne Plaza Bahrain to welcome His Excellency Vinod K. Jacob, the newly appointed Ambassador of India to Bahrain, and to welcome Mr. Sunny Kulatakar, Chairman of the GOPIO Congratulations on your appointment. International.
For the past 20 years, he has served as Middle East and International Coordinator, Executive Vice President, International President, and Global Ambassador at GOPIO. This is the first time a person from the Middle East has been appointed as president of this global organization.
Mr. Jacob referred to the support and contribution of GOPIO during the COVID-19 period while working at the Indian Embassy in Sri Lanka. The Ambassador congratulated the New World President on his appointment and wished him good luck.
Mr. Yusuf Rouri, Director of the Information Bureau of the Capital Prefecture, attended as the guest of honour. He reiterated the historic cooperation between India and Bahrain and welcomed further cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.
MSCEB Chairman Engr. Mohamed Salahuddin, as the guest of honour, recalled Mr. Kulatakar’s association with the Indian diaspora during his many memorable trips to India.
Roshan George, General Secretary of GOPIO, announced the soft launch of a digital platform aimed at helping society bridge the gap between an increasingly digital society and the everyday hassles of ordinary people.
ICRF Chairman Dr. Babu Ramachandran, Mr. Soman Baby and ICRF Vice-President Mr. VK Thomas delivered congratulatory messages. Bahrain Chapter President Tina Matthew gave a welcome address and Vice President Samuel Paul proposed a vote of thanks. The ceremony was attended by many dignitaries and celebrities from Bahrain’s social and business sector.
