The Ferrari 499P will return for the FIA World Endurance Championship’s grand finale, the Bahrain 8 Hours, scheduled for the Sakhir circuit. The race will start on Saturday, November 4th at 2pm local time.
Ahead of the final round of the 2023 World Championship season, the ‘Queen’ of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 499P, will appear at the Ferrari Finali Mondiali at the Mugello circuit this weekend. The hypercar that won his 100th anniversary edition of the world’s most famous endurance race will be on display in the paddock, as well as appearing on the track as part of his Ferrari show on Sunday 29th, parading around a track in Tuscany To do. Free access to the lawn from Friday, October 27th to Sunday, October 29th (entry via ‘Cancelo Palagio’).
Fifty-five days after the last round at Fuji, Japan, where the No. 50 and No. 51 hypercars finished fourth and fifth respectively, the Ferrari AF Corse team will be back in the spotlight at round seven of the World Endurance Championship. A race that will determine the driver’s title.
Races give you 39 points overall, 38 points for winning the race and 1 point for taking pole position. Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and third-placed Antonio Giovinazzi arrive in Bahrain with a 31-point difference over the top of the standings. Teammates Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Niklas Nielsen are in fourth place, five points behind. Therefore, both his number 51 and number 50 499P crews are still mathematically candidates for the hypercar class drivers’ title. However, in the run-up to the Persian Gulf Race, the task appears to be anything but simple.
The next weekend at the circuit, which was established in 2004 and was previously used to test the 499P in September, begins on Thursday 2nd November with the first two free practice sessions on Friday 3rd November. The events are scheduled to take place at 12:15pm and 5:30pm. Watch the third free practice session from 12pm and the 15-minute qualifying session for the Hypercar class from 5:05pm. This will determine the starting grid for the 8-hour race, with the green flag expected to be given at 2pm on Saturday (times are local time).
