North Carolina Athletics continued their dominance this week, taking first place in most of the competition. The week was highlighted by the women’s cross country team winning its third consecutive national title.
Women’s basketball ends four games with undefeated homestand
NC State women’s basketball is off to a strong start in the 2023-24 season. This week’s win between Elon and Rhode Island improves the Pack to 4-0. Junior guards Asiaha James and Saniya Rivers continue to lead the Reds in scoring, with James scoring 20 points against Phoenix and Rivers scoring 19 points against the Rams.

Cross country will participate in the national championship
North Carolina State University women’s cross country won its third consecutive national title this week, defeating No. 1 Arizona State University by just one point. Senior Caitlin Toohey led the No. 2 pack with a time of 19:23.0 for fifth place overall. All five red and white runners who scored points finished in the top 70.
The Wolfpack boys finished 17th overall, with two players in the top 100.

Volleyball continues to excel in conference play
On Friday, Nov. 17, the North Carolina State University volleyball team defeated Clemson 3-0. The Pack celebrated Senior Night against the Tigers, with graduate setter Kristen McDaniel being the only honoree. Clemson limited each Wolfpack player to less than 10 kills, but exceptional performance on the service line and defense led the Red-White team to victory.

Pro wrestling remains undefeated
NC State wrestling dominated Army, 34-6, for their seventh win of the season. No. 9 junior Ed Scott, freshman Dylan Fishback, No. 5 redshirt senior Trent Hidley, No. 12 redshirt junior Owen Trefan, No. 3 redshirt junior Jacob Camacho, No. 7 junior Ryan Jack. , No. 6 redshirt junior Jarrett Trombley and sophomore Jackson Arrington won each of their games to lead the No. 2 Pack to victory. Fishback, Trefan, and Camacho all scored major decisions, Jack and Arrington scored technical falls, and Hidley won by fall.

Swimming dominates North Carolina State University/GAC Invitational Meet
North Carolina State Swimming will compete against Arizona State University, Duke University, U.S. Military Academy, and Virginia Tech in a three-day invitational from Thursday, Nov. 16 to Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. did. The state girls won the competition with a total of 1,964 points, while the fourth-place Wolfpack boys placed second with 1,806 points.

Men’s basketball defeats Charleston Southern
NC State men’s basketball defeated Charleston Southern 87-53 on Friday, Nov. 17. The 34-point win was the Pack’s biggest of the season. Freshman forward DJ Burns and freshman guard DJ Horn led the Wolfpack with 16 and 18 points, respectively. In the Red and White game, they also showed off on defense, forcing 22 turnovers to create opportunities on offense, ultimately scoring 29 of North Carolina State’s 87 points.

Football beats Virginia Tech 35-28
NC State football defeated the Hokies on the road on Saturday, November 18th in the penultimate game of the regular season. Graduate quarterback Brennan Armstrong and freshman receiver Kevin Concepcion combined to put together their best offensive performance of the season. . Concepcion completed two touchdown passes to Armstrong and totaled seven receptions for 63 yards. Armstrong threw for 203 yards and had 89 rushing yards in the win.
