BRISTOLVILLE — Albert Sherman Thomas, 64, of Bristolville, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born October 3, 1959 in Warren, the son of the late Sherman Lloyd Thomas and the late Margaret Emma Phillips Thomas.
On February 2, 1994, he married Karen L. Lawler and they have been together for the past 29 years.
Albert was a 1978 graduate of Maplewood High School and was employed for 44 years as an operations engineer at Cleveland Cliffs, a former coke plant.
He was a member of the Bristolville Church of the Brethren. Albert loved horses, and from the age of 7 he started riding horses and continued from the 4th grade until high school. He and his family rode horses throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, and even into the Smoky Mountains. In later years, he took up billiards and became a member of the APA, Moose Club and his NAUS club. Albert was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and he also liked muscle cars and Jeeps and owned several.
He is survived by his wife, Karen L. Thomas of Bristolville; his daughter, Jaclyn (Brian) Dawson of Southington; stepson Paul Rupchak of Salem and sister Joyce (Danielle) Frankowski of Cortland;
He was preceded in death by his parents;
The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from noon to 3:00 pm at Aurizio’s Banquet Center, 4395 Youngstown Road SE, Warren, OH 44484.
