If you answered yes to any of the questions, then surprisingly, the popular baingan-based Indian dish has recently become one of the world’s worst. Listed in the top 100 rated foods. You heard it! When the gourmet and travel guide Taste Atlas released its list, Alu Baingan ranked 60th with a score of 2.7 out of 5.

Let’s agree. We share a love-hate relationship with baingan, but that’s mostly due to our personal food preferences. However, desi gourmets feel it might be a bit of an exaggeration to claim that this is one of the worst foods in the world.

Chef Leethu Uday Kgaji posted: “I am beyond shocked that aloo baingan is in the world’s 100 worst rated foods.” She further shared the recipe and said, “Try this recipe and tell me if aloo baingan deserves to be on the world’s worst food list.”
