BURNSVILLE, Minn. – For the fourth consecutive fall release, Augustana Athletics sits atop the NSIC All-Sports Standings after fall sports. Augustana, an eight-time NSIC All-Sport Champion, leads the overall standings with 58.5 points, while the boys are first with 28 points and the girls are third with 30.5 points.
Augustana won the NSIC championships in soccer and men’s cross country, helping extend its overall lead.
“It’s Thanksgiving week and it’s the perfect time to express our gratitude to our winning student-athletes,” said Vice President of Athletics Josh Morton. “Competitive excellence is a term we use a lot in this field and we are off to a great start this year as we aim to win the NSIC All-Sport Award for the third year in a row.”
The winner of each conference-sponsored championship title receives a total point value equal to the number of teams in that sport plus one. The next-placed player will receive a total of points equal to the number of teams minus the number of places. If there is a tie for placement at any level, points will be totaled and distributed equally.
NSIC will once again release standings for all sports after the winter sports season. The NSIC All-Sport Champion will be announced after the spring season and the award will be presented at his NSIC Hall of Fame Banquet in July 2024.
