A revolution in auto rack lighting that makes loading and unloading cars easier!
auto track rail vehicle lighting
On autotrack rail cars, holes allow vehicle exhaust gases to escape, and these small holes provide the only source of light from yard lights. These outdoor garden lights are often not bright enough and can get in the way during loading and unloading, creating a challenge for workers.
The introduction of a modular LED light system for autotrack rail vehicles by INPS addresses the challenges posed by dim yard lighting. This innovative solution increases visibility and ensures worker safety during tasks such as loading and unloading, especially with the precision required due to the narrow dimensions of the vehicle.
Minimize the risk of damage to your valuable vehicle by avoiding traditional methods such as flashlights. Overall, the state-of-the-art lighting system transforms a loading and unloading worker’s Autorack rail vehicle experience.

Challenges include:
- Dark garden lighting impedes visibility.
- Inadequate lighting compromises worker safety.
- Narrow car dimensions require precise lighting.
- Traditional methods such as using a flashlight or leaning out of a window risk damaging your valuable vehicle.
This solution is a state-of-the-art lighting system that transforms the autotrack rail vehicle experience.
INPS recognized the need for adequate lighting to facilitate the work of loading and unloading personnel, with particular emphasis on wheel chocks. Their solution was a game changer.

A prototype was implemented to measure brightness and light levels to ensure optimal functionality.
In order to eliminate obstacles and streamline the placement of the vehicle, it was decided to place the light source under the vehicle.
Pre-production prototypes were installed on five autotrack vehicles. These vehicles were loaded and unloaded at night using LED lights and then moved to another depot. Loading and unloading workers were surveyed about the effectiveness of the system and asked whether their work had improved in terms of speed and ease.
