His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa praised the role of Arabian Gulf University (AGU), which is one of the prominent scientific and modern academic institutions, and said that the university is a member of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). ) added that it embodies cooperation with other countries.
His Majesty the King delivered a speech welcoming Dr. Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, the newly appointed Chairman of AGU. King Hamad praised AGU’s contribution to science and research, praising its achievements and its outstanding position among various prestigious Arab and international universities.
He recalled the efforts of the late Dr. Khalid Abdulrahman Al Ohri, former Rector of AGU, and his role in service to the university. His Majesty assured that Bahrain will continue to support the university as it continues to develop generations who will use their knowledge and qualifications to contribute to the progress and prosperity of the GCC countries.
His Majesty the King wished Mr. Al Fuhayd every success as he continues the university’s pioneering journey and develops its programmes, curriculum and specializations. The new AGU president expressed his gratitude to His Majesty the King for Bahrain’s support in achieving the university’s academic goals and vision.
