Bahrain once again witnesses the world’s biggest martial arts festival as the BRAVE Combat Federation revives International Combat Week and takes over the Khalifa Sports City Arena under the patronage of the First Vice-Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports It turns out. The official announcement of the festival was made yesterday at a special press conference attended by BRAVE CF Chairman Mohamed Shahid and Bahrain MMA Federation President Mohamed Qamber.
BRAVE International Combat Week (BICW) will be held from December 5th to 16th and will feature three major professional events from BRAVE CF, as well as the first Amateur MMA Asia Championship to be held in Saudi Arabia.
The third edition of BICW in 2023 will cap off a historic year for Bahraini mixed martial arts and BRAVE CF. The Bahraini organization hosted the event in France, making it the most global MMA promotion in the world and the 29th country overall to host BRAVE CF.
During the press conference, Mr. Shahid celebrated the achievements of BRAVE CF in 2023 and announced key details of BICW.
“In 2023, BRAVE CF has broken several records, but perhaps nothing is more important than becoming the most global MMA organization. And to celebrate, we are returning home to make even more history.” There’s nothing better than carving. We’re hosting three professional events for the first time, as well as the Asian Championships with IMMAF, Bahrain MMA Federation and Asian MMA Federation. The world’s best fighters will be under one roof. “This is the largest edition of the world’s largest martial arts festival and is a testament to Sheikh Khalid’s achievements and vision,” said Shahid.
Mr. Kamber then spoke about Bahrain’s achievements in the field of MMA, both at a sporting and organizational level.
“Bahrain is currently the number one country in the world for mixed martial arts. We also have some of the number one pound-for-pound amateur fighters in the world in both men’s and women’s divisions. At an operational level, The Bahrain MMA Federation is now the official organizing team for all IMMAF competitions around the world, demonstrating Shaikh Khalid’s leadership at all levels of the sport.”
Mr. Shahid also announced some of the biggest battles that will take place during the organization’s return to Bahrain.
“These are very exciting times for MMA fans in Bahrain and the Middle East. We have three major world title championships on the line and some of BRAVE CF’s biggest stars are coming to fight, including the legendary Jara The return of Al Shirawi, Shorty Torres vs. Nkosi Ndebele 2 at BRAVE CF 80, and matches scheduled against the likes of Ramazan Gitinov, Khamzat Maev and Rasul Magomedov, Mohamed Al-Samiya, Hussein Bahrain’s best athletes such as Ayyad and Abdullah Al Yaqoob will also be in attendance.”
BICW will host three major BRAVE CF events and will also host the Asian Championships during the 10-day martial arts event that transforms Bahrain into the mixed martial arts capital of the world.
