Following this defeat, Bahrain will be hoping to bounce back in their next assignment when they face their other Pool A opponents, Bhutan.
Myanmar and Bhutan are also scheduled to compete.
In Pool B, Qatar defeated Nepal 2-1, and in Pool C, Mongolia defeated Maldives 2-1.
Yesterday in Pool D, Laos defeated Macau 3-0, while Tajikistan recorded a 2-1 victory over Brunei.
The competition will feature 13 men’s national teams from across the continent.
After the first round robin in this qualifying stage, the top teams from each of the four groups will advance to the playoff round.
The two winners will advance to Group IV for next year’s Davis Cup competition.
Davis Cup is one of the premier world tournaments for men’s tennis, run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
Saudi Arabia is hosting the Asia/Oceania team tournament for the third consecutive year.
This year’s event will be held immediately after the 2023 Billie Jean King Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group III matches held by BTF last week.
The two tournaments will be followed by the third consecutive International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior Championship.
Two of these competitions are J30 events, with the first being held from October 30th to November 4th and the second being held from November 6th to November 11th.
The third is the J60 tournament, which will be held from November 13th to November 18th.
All three tournaments are part of the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors, which brings together the world’s top tennis talent between the ages of 13 and 18.
Each Kingdom event features men’s and women’s singles and doubles matches.
