Bahrain, December 26th: Mogaveeras Bahrain hosted the ‘Atil’ food festival at the Papillon Restaurant campus in the island nation’s capital. Hundreds of people, including Mogaveeras Bahrain members, invited guests and others, attended the event and tasted rare home-cooked vegetarian, non-vegetarian and sweet dishes.
The food festival was held in memory of Theerta Suvarna, founding member and vice president of Mogaveeras Bahrain, who passed away suddenly.
Shilpa Shamita Kundal, Vice President of Mogaveera Bahrain, gave an introductory speech. A minute’s silence was observed in memory of the late Theerta Suvarna. Surekha Suvarna, wife of the late Teertha Suvarna, cut the ribbon and inaugurated the food festival.
There were more traditional delicacies from the countryside. People helped a lot and tasted the food. Various types of entertainment games were also planned to make the program even more fun.
Surekha Suvarna, wife of the late Teerta Suvarna, Karunakar Saria and Vijayalakshmi Salian, the first presidents of the Saudi Mangalore Association, Girish Idia and Sangeeta Girish, former presidents of Bahrain Mogaveeras, and Geeta Jagannath Suvarna Kaup, former Chairman of Bahrain’s Mogaveeras, was honored for her valuable contribution to the organization. We paid our respects to the Mogavilas of Bahrain by offering them shawls and presenting them with souvenirs. All the men and women who prepared the clean and delicious food also received a commemorative gift.
Mogaveeras Bahrain President Sudhakar Anagari, Vice President Shilpa Shamita Kundal, General Secretary Suman Suvarna, Sports Secretary Rajesh Mendon, Treasurer Kodandarama Salian, Honorary Chairman Chandra Mendon, Senior Member Ranjan Salian, Former President Girish Idia, Kannada Sangha Chairman Amarnata Rai President MASA Saudi Arabia Gopal Shetty, MASA founding member Ravi Karkera, Patra Foundation Bahrain-Saudi Federation Chairman Narendra Shetty, Kannada Sangha Past President Rajesh Shetty attended the podium.
Surekha Suvarna expressed her gratitude for the event organized in memory of her late husband. Amarnata Rai and Ravi Karkera praised the late Teerta Suvarna’s contribution to Mogaveeras Bahrain. They also appreciated Mogaveeras Bahrain’s efforts in paying a fitting tribute to Teerta Suvarna.
Mogaveeras Bahrain Chief Secretary Suman Suvarna gave the vote of thanks. Kamalaksha Amin moderated the event.
