BLUFFTON, Ohio (WLIO) – Bluffton University unveiled its state-of-the-art science building to the public and the donors who helped build the facility.
This semester is the first that students have had access to the newly completed Knowlton Science Center. The $10 million building houses his six lab spaces for students studying fields such as biology, chemistry and food science. The new lab features more modern equipment to help students immerse themselves in course material and prepare them for the technology they will use on a daily basis when they enter the workforce.
“When you go into hospitals, clinics, engineering, business, pretty much any field you can imagine, it’s important to understand technology and be able to work with it. And it’s important to be able to adapt to different types of technology. The lab makes that possible,” said Bluffton University President Jane Wood.
A local business owner and alumnus who helped fund the food science facility said it will allow Bluffton to provide even more high-quality future employees to local businesses and health care providers. There is.
“The university is very well placed to attract students who want to further their studies in areas such as food business and other sciences. We meet students downstairs who dream of entering the medical profession. So I think Bluffton is in crisis.”This puts us in a great position right now,” said donor Greg Wannemacher, CEO of Wannemacher Enterprises.
The Knowlton Science Center will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to noon on Return Day, Oct. 21.
