A Carnival Cruise Line passenger was injured in a car accident at the Port of Galveston, Texas over the weekend.
Four pedestrians were taken to the hospital after being hit by a private vehicle at Cruise Terminal 28 Saturday morning, according to a news release from the port. The Galveston Port Police Department is investigating the incident.
The pedestrians were part of a family of six passengers who disembarked from the line’s Carnival Dream ship, cruise line spokesman Matt Lupoli told USA TODAY. The ship departed on Nov. 26, returning from a six-day Western Caribbean round-trip cruise with stops in Costa Maya/Cozumel, Mexico, and Roatan, Honduras, according to Cruise Mapper.
Two of the guests were hospitalized at the University of Texas Medical Branch for observation and are expected to return home Sunday, Lupoli said in an email. The line’s care team “supported the family and also made hotel arrangements,” it added.
