DOLLAR BAY — Dollar Bay vs. Tamarack City’s Blue Bolts boys basketball team took a big step forward Monday night, but they dealt with a bigger and stronger Calumet Copper Kings team that came to town and won 59-48. There wasn’t enough to do. At Dollar Bay Gym.
Calumet was led offensively by Blake Tervis and Gavin Stouros, who both scored in double figures, Tervis with 19 points and Stouros with 18 points.
“It was a good effort by the Bolts tonight, but Calumet’s size and physicality gave us problems.” Blue Bolts coach Jesse Kentara said. “Tavis and Sturos shot the ball well.”
Alan Bjorn also had a strong night for the Copper Kings, scoring 11 points.
“We will continue to work hard and improve.” Kentara said.
Liam Tourtilott had 18 points and Will Beaudoin had 12 points for the Blue Bolts.
Getting more points from Beaudouin bodes well for Dollar Bay in the long run.
“Will did great in his job search and became an offensive threat.” Kentara said. “We still need more production from the Guard, but that will come someday.”
