Bahrain, November 21st: The island nation’s YMC organization recently held a cricket tournament ‘YMC Trophy 2023’ under the auspices of Nisarga Bahrain at Al Najma Sports Ground in Juffair here. Hundreds of cricket lovers and players watched the tournament and expressed their gratitude.
Bahrain’s famous R&R organization was the main sponsor of the event. The tournament began at 6am and ended with a varied program in the evening. 14 strong boys teams and 4 girls teams from Karnataka participated in his 30-yard softball tournament.
In the boys’ division, Team Sachi won. Kudla Super Kings, RD Group and Supernovas secured second, third and fourth positions respectively.
In the women’s division, the HPCA team won. Jai Karnataka team won the runner-up position.
In the men’s category, Sooraj Shetty was the best player and best bowler of the tournament. The best batter was Nishin TP. Rias was the best fielder. Anil Kumar was the best wicketkeeper. Vipin Raj was named man of man for the final.
In the women’s category, Kavya Badoni was named the best player of the tournament, best batsman, best wicketkeeper and best player of the final. Rechelle was the best bowler. Swarna was declared the best fielder.
Manoj Shetty, Sampat Shetty and Yajnesh Poojary organized the tournament very well.
Internationally renowned kabaddi player from Karnataka, Sukesh Hegde, Ekalavya Award winner and international powerlifter Bhola Akshata Poojary graced the occasion with their presence as the guests of honor.
The closing program held in the evening featured Bahrain Cricket Board Advisory Board Chairman Mohamed Mansour, Kannada Sangha Chairman Amarnath Rai, R&R Organization Managing Director Royston Fernandes, and former Kannada Sangha Chairman Chairman Pradeep Shetty, Web Tree Organization Managing Director Venkatesh Bhatt, past president of Indian Club and others were present. Mr. Anand Lobo, Bahrain Billabas Chairman Harish Poojary, former Bahrain Billabas Chairman Ajit Bangera, former Bahrain Khuraal Chairman Ganesh Manila, and radio broadcaster Kamalaksha Amin were among those in attendance.
The chief guests, Sukesh Hegde and Bhola Akshata Poojary, were presented with shawls and mementos. The guest of honor, Mohammed Mansoor Heimadi, who was recently awarded the Gulf Ratna Award, received the honor.
The winners were awarded trophies and cash prizes. The colorful closing program saw Shining Star Her group perform dance under the guidance of Pritam Acharya. Nashik Dhole group played drums and did some exciting fire play.
Kamal and Surendra were the judges. Mansour and Frieda served as commentators.
Dhanush Kral, Shashikanth Acharya, Ratish Bhandari, Dixit Salian, Sagar Shetty, Navin Kumar, Shashidhar Kral, Bharath Nayak, Atul Poojary, Vivis Jeet D’Souza, Sharan Rao, Nitya. Nayak contributed to the success of the tournament.
Roopesh Suvarna supervised the program. The YMC organization has been organizing tournaments for the past two years to help the needy and provide financial assistance to the needy.
