According to the official website of the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation on Thursday, Israel evacuated several embassies in the Middle East, including Bahrain, Jordan and Morocco.
Without providing details, authorities reported that Israel had evacuated several embassies in the Middle East, including those in Bahrain and Morocco.
Israeli officials further stated that “Jordan’s embassy was evacuated at the start of the war on the orders of Foreign Minister Eli Cohen and the head of the ministry.”
The conflict in Gaza, which has been under shelling and blockade by Israel since October 7, has been disrupted by the Al-Aqsa floods, a multi-pronged surprise attack by Hamas that included barrages of rockets and infiltration into Israel by land, sea and air. It started with the start of the operation. The attack was announced as retaliation for the attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque and increased violence by Israeli settlers.
The Israeli military then launched Operation Iron Sword against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.
Gaza is facing a dire humanitarian crisis, with no electricity and shortages of water, food, fuel and medicine.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire” to alleviate the “epic human suffering”.
At least 3,785 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s attack on Gaza, including more than 1,400 inside Israel.
