Export Bahrain, a key driver of Bahrain’s international trade ambitions, has entered into a strategic partnership with TÜV Rheinland, a renowned global leader in independent testing, inspection, certification, training and consulting services.
With nearly 150 years of experience and headquartered in Cologne, Germany, TÜV Rheinland helps Bahrain-based companies implement and provide guidance on compliance procedures and certifications required by regulatory authorities in the MENA region. That’s what I’m aiming for.
The agreement was signed during the final workshop of Export Bahrain’s ‘Export Week’. This workshop by TÜV Rheinland titled “Increasing market access: Regulations and solutions for Bahrain-based companies to enter Saudi Arabia and key MENA markets” included Bahrain-based business owners and entrepreneurs. More than 125 people, including those from home, participated. Educating Bahraini exporters about the regulations, procedures and various certificates of compliance required to enter the Saudi market, especially those related to major Saudi companies.
The main objective of this partnership is to provide support to Bahraini companies looking to expand into Saudi Arabia and the MENA region. The agreement also provides access and guidance to navigate the market regulations necessary for entry, as well as certification and compliance services through TÜV Rheinland as part of Export Bahrain’s internationalization and export advisory solutions. And I also intend to achieve this.
Through partnerships with German companies, companies in various sectors in Bahrain will be able to navigate relevant regulations imposed by key Saudi regulatory bodies and programs such as the Saudi Product Safety Program Saleem, SFDA, and SQM. This cooperation will facilitate and expedite exports to Saudi Arabia and the wider region.
Commenting on the partnership, Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce and Chairman of Export Bahrain, said: “This partnership with TÜV Rheinland is a testament to Export Bahrain’s dedication to the global success of Bahraini companies. ”, emphasizing the importance of this partnership.
“This partnership aims to remove barriers faced by national companies when exporting to Saudi Arabia and MENA markets, thereby paving the way for unparalleled competitiveness on the world stage.”
Mohammad Asif, CEO and Regional Director, Government Inspection and International Trade, IMEA, TÜV Rheinland Arabia, added: “We support Bahrain-based companies to access MENA markets, particularly the Saudi market. We are pleased to enter into this partnership with Export Bahrain to achieve this goal.”
“This partnership will help increase exports of products from Bahrain by ensuring compliance with applicable regulations in various markets, while ensuring safe and high-quality products for users in the MENA and Saudi markets. This will also lead to making it possible for people to enjoy their lives.”
