1. Background
a. This scholarship is established to support students who have earned an advanced degree by research to complete their studies in their field of study or research activity.
b. This scholarship is funded by the Faculty of Science and a gift account.
2. Qualifications
a. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an advanced degree course by research within the Faculty of Science at the time of application.
b. Applicants must not have consumed their maximum candidate qualification for a degree in accordance with the University of Sydney (Higher Degrees by Research) Regulations 2011 policy as of the application closing date.
c. Applicant must not currently hold another major scholarship during the intended term of this scholarship.
d. At the time of award, MPhil awardees must have completed at least 1.5 EFTSL (Equivalent Full Time Student Load) candidacies and PhD awardees must have completed at least 3 EFTSL candidatures. there is.
e. Applicants must have a reasonable expectation of submitting a paper within six months of the commencement of the award.
f. Applicants are expected to enroll full-time or part-time.

3. Selection criteria
a. Successful applicants will be awarded scholarships based on:
I. Letter of Support from Supervisor Confirming Section 2e of these Terms of Use.
II. Personal statement explaining
a. A statement of progress including evidence of research publications, conference presentations, and relevant publications during the candidacy period.
b. Specific barriers to completion of the dissertation and/or financial hardship related to the COVID-19 pandemic and/or related lockdowns, including a letter from the applicant’s supervisor and evidence of financial circumstances. supporting documentation.

c. Successful applicants will be awarded by the Dean of Science after being recommended by a selection committee made up of members of the Faculty of Science Research and Education Committee.
4. Value
a. Subject to satisfactory academic performance, the scholarship provides:
I. One-time scholarship of $7,000 (full-time enrollment).
II. Tuition fees for the research period related to the award period (international students only).
III. Recipients who enroll part-time will receive a $3,500 stipend for six months. This means that the $3,500 will be split into two installments for her.

5. Vacation arrangements
a. Leave of absence is not permitted.
6. Research abroad
a. Scholarship recipients generally cannot conduct research abroad during the period of this scholarship.
7. Suspension
a. Scholarship recipients cannot suspend the award of their scholarship unless there are extenuating circumstances.
b. Suspensions must be approved by the Associate Dean for Research and Education.
8. Change of registration details
a. Scholarship recipients are subject to changes in attendance patterns, suspensions, leaves of absence, withdrawals, and course changes (e.g., changing from a PhD to a master’s degree, and vice versa). If the awardee does not notify the above changes, the university may request a refund of the overpaid scholarship.
9. End
a. The scholarship will terminate in the following cases:
I. Regarding student resignation or revocation of research degree;
II. If the recipient suspends candidacy and prior approval to suspend the scholarship is not obtained;
III.If the recipient does not resume studies at the end of the approved leave period, or
IV. If you are a recipient of another university-administered scholarship and are not approved.
b. The scholarship may be terminated by the university earlier if the university determines that:
I. The course of study is not carried out with competence and diligence or in accordance with the terms of this offer;
II. The student fails to maintain satisfactory progress; or
III. If a student engages in cheating or other inappropriate behavior.
c. The scholarship will be suspended while the inquiry/appeal process is being processed.
d. Once the scholarship ends, it will not be reinstated.
10. Cheating
a. The student engages in misconduct or other inappropriate conduct (during the scholarship period or in connection with the student’s scholarship application and eligibility) during the scholarship period and the university is justified in recovering the funds provided. If the university determines that this is the case, the university may request that the funds provided be recovered. Students must repay any payments made in connection with the scholarship. Examples of such conduct include, but are not limited to: Academic dishonesty, research misconduct within the meaning of the Code of Research Conduct (e.g. plagiarism in proposing, conducting or reporting research, or failure to declare or manage a material conflict of interest), violation of the Code of Conduct for students, and scholarships. Misrepresentations in relevant application documents or other documents.
b. The University may require such repayment at any time during or after the Scholarship Term. Additionally, by accepting this scholarship, the student consents to all aspects of any investigation of misconduct related to this scholarship to be disclosed by the University to funding bodies and/or relevant professional bodies.
11. Other requirements
