The Florida Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) has inducted Volusia County-based Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Trustee Glenn Ritchie, a longtime civic, philanthropic and business leader, into its Hall of Fame.
Mr. Ritchie, president and chief executive officer of John Hall Automotive Group, Ritchie Automotive Group and Southeast Automotive Management, was inducted into the Hall of Fame by FADA, an influential statewide industry association. was one of the first retailers. He and the other 14 Hall of Fame inductees were recognized in a ceremony Nov. 2 at the Four Seasons Resort in Orlando.
A valued member of Embry-Riddle’s Board of Trustees since 2007, Ritchie has been recognized by FADA for his leadership and distinguished career, including 20-time Chevrolet Dealer of the Year honors. In addition to his accomplishments in the industry, he was honored for his passion for philanthropy and commitment to public service.
FADA President Ted Smith said Ritchie’s “philanthropic spirit and commitment to making a difference has touched the lives of countless people and continues to be an inspiration to others.”
Mori Hosseini, Chairman of the Embry-Riddle Board of Directors and President and CEO of ICI Homes, also praised Ritchie’s decades of service as a prominent figure in Volusia County’s business and civic life. “Through their visionary leadership and selfless service, Glenn Ritchie and his wife Connie inspire us to achieve ever more ambitious goals,” Chairman Hosseini said. Ta. “Glenn has applied his deep business acumen to help improve the education, employment opportunities and quality of life for all Floridians. He and Connie are true role models for our community. .”
Glenn Ritchie served as Mayor of Daytona Beach from 2006 to 2012. He serves on the boards of various charities, including Halifax Health His Medical Center, Halifax Health Foundation, NASCAR Foundation, and the Halifax Regional Citizens Federation. He has received numerous awards for his community service, including the Council on Aging’s Community Service Award, which bears Richie’s name and the name of his wife Connie; and the Daytona Area Chamber of Commerce’s Top Leadership Award. .
During his long career, Ritchie has served as president of the Florida Automobile Dealers Association, the Chevrolet National Dealer Council, and the General Motors National Dealer Council. His dedication to industry excellence was rewarded with the Civic League’s J. Saxton Lloyd Lifetime Achievement Award as a testament to his lasting contributions.
Additionally, Ritchie is a long-time education advocate. He serves on the boards of Embry-Riddle, the Boys and Girls Club of Volusia County, and Bethune-Cookman University. He was awarded an honorary doctorate from Bethune-Cookman in recognition of his significant contributions to the Bethune-Cookman Institute.
FADA called the first 15-member Hall of Fame class “a remarkable lineup of individuals who have made a positive impact on the automotive industry and their communities.”
