From January to the end of September, Ulankab operated 97 freight trains connecting China and Europe, transporting $170 million worth of cargo, including cars, household appliances, and machinery and equipment.
Due to its unique geographical advantage, Ulanqab is the only hub city for the non-regional metropolitan rail line of freight trains connecting China and Europe. In its eight years of operation, the airline has opened eight regular routes connecting 16 cities in seven countries, including Moscow in Russia, Minsk in Belarus, and Almaty in Kazakhstan. This has provided a major impetus to the development of the world economy.
Xu Guodong, deputy director of the Uranium Cab Commerce Bureau, said that in the future, the city plans to become a logistics center and further open up to promote the Belt and Road Initiative.
