Bahrain-based GFH Financial Group (GFH) has announced the master plan for Bahrain’s mega luxury destination Areen. The scheme will boast a new city block with residential, hospitality, leisure and retail elements on an area of 2 million square meters.
The Areen project is located near Al Areen Wildlife Park and Reserve in the southern part of the Kingdom of Bahrain, close to the Bahrain International Circuit and Al Dana Amphitheater.
With a built-up area of 1.5 million square meters, the project includes 16 major clusters including commercial offices, retail stores, restaurants, hotels, medical facilities, educational facilities, and various residential communities.
The master plan has been updated and enhanced to address new health and wellness trends in addition to a walkable shopping street.
A key highlight of Areen’s masterplan is Saudi Arabia’s newest five-star hotel, Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain, which opened yesterday (December 11).
Designed according to Raffles’ exacting standards, the hotel has been designated as offering the most luxurious hospitality in Bahrain, expressing enchanting Arabian charm and world-class sophistication and elegance.
Spreading an area of 131,213 square meters, this signature hotel has 120 rooms, including 78 villas and 1/2/3 bedrooms, each with a private pool and garden. The hotel also offers five dining options, a rooftop restaurant and an award-winning spa for ultimate relaxation.
The groundbreaking ceremony of the new master plan and the launch of Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain was sponsored by Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King of Bahrain and Chairman of the Supreme Council for the Environment. Government officials, management and partners of GFH and its subsidiary Al Ahleen Holding Company were in attendance.
