Gotion Hightech and Chery Automobile have entered into a strategic partnership in the field of batteries for new energy vehicles.
On January 7, Hefei Guoxan High-tech Power Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Hefei Gotion”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Gotion High-tech, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chery Automobile. The partnership aims to expand into both passenger and commercial vehicle segments and jointly explore opportunities in the new energy vehicle market.
The partnership under this agreement will cover Chery’s projects including passenger cars, buses, logistics vehicles and heavy trucks. Hefei Gotion will act as the main supplier and actively participate in the development and supply of the project. Chery Automobile will similarly introduce advanced battery technologies such as Gotion High-tech’s third-generation battery cells, and strengthen cooperation in battery platform standardization, cell consistency and safety, and battery big data.
Additionally, the two companies will jointly explore innovative business models in emerging areas such as energy storage and electric ships. By leveraging their respective advantages in the international market, the two companies will work together to expand the overseas new energy vehicle market. Furthermore, we will promote stronger collaboration in ESG (environment, society, and governance) initiatives and carbon reduction, with the aim of improving our brand reputation and market recognition.
