Harold W. Whitford Jr. passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023, while enjoying a fire in his fireplace at his home in Frewsburg, New York.
Harold was born on May 2, 1955 to Harold W. Whitford Sr. and Shirley Kirchhoff. Harold was always honest, had a strong work ethic, and his moral compass always put everyone’s best interests first. Harold was a jack of all trades and a friend to many. Among his many endearing traits, his best qualities were his humor and kindness. He was the one who always had the answers and always made sure his loved ones were well taken care of. Harold was a hard worker and will be remembered in our memories as saying, “Let the sun burn and move!”
Harold began delivering newspapers as a teenager, and as an adult he drove a taxi, pumped gas at a Minuteman, and later drove a truck at Welder’s Supply. When an injury on his job left him unable to continue driving a truck, he switched gears and took a full-time job in property management. While recovering from his injury, he attended school and earned his business degree, and with his real estate license and experience he founded H. Whitford Property Management. This allowed him to support his family for the next 29 years. He also helped his wife Dawn open and operate Dawn’s Shirts and Sports for many years, and spent his weekends at his Stateline Speedway, Erie’s Speedway and other shows buying new merchandise. Ta. Although he was a busy man, his family was most important to him and he loved every moment he spent with them and supporting them.
Harold loved being an active participant and influencing positive change. He was a founder of the Jamestown Roller Hockey Association, a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Lakewood He was a member of the Rod & Gun, Chautauqua Fire Department, and Gloria, where he played softball, was also a member of his Day Church. did. He is also a member of his COI board, president of the Real Estate Investors Association, an associate broker with Howard Hannah Holt, and a longtime member of the Healthy Housing Committee and several other housing committees. there was. Harold is also passionate about politics, not only running for office himself but also supporting others, and each year he tells his children to get out and vote to make a difference. I did. Harold was also a member of the Scottish Rite and a proud Brother Mason of Mount Moriah Lodge #145.
Harold will forever be missed by his wife of nearly 50 years, Dawn, and his children Bethany, Caitlin, Courtney, Andrew, Brandi, and Jordyn. He loves being a great dad to Scott Lynn, Tyler, Londyn, Mason, Paige, Piper, Allison, Eva, James, Gavin, Amelia, Grace Lynn, Mayla, and all of his bonus grandchildren Alex, Izzy, and Dawson. I was proud. Harold will also be missed by his best friend and business partner Brenda and his siblings Vern, Susan, Dawn, Nate, John and Brad.
Harold was preceded in death by his infant grandson Jackson Stephen, his mother Shirley Kirchhoff, his father Harold W. Whitford Sr., and his stepmother Ann Whitford.
