IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD Pro Champions Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat will drive a Toyota GR010 Hybrid in the FIA World Endurance Championship rookie test in Bahrain next week.
Confirmed as part of the 18-car entry list for the test, the British duo will join Josh Pearson and Jose María López behind the wheel of the No. 7 car.
Pearson was selected by the WEC as one of the named drivers to participate in the test, along with Corvette Racing’s Nico Varone and European Le Mans Series LMP3 driver Antoine Dokan.
Meanwhile, Vallone will be driving the No. 2 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac V Series.R in the test alongside newly crowned ELMS LMP2 champion Kiffin Simpson.
Porsche Penske Motorsports will welcome new DTM champion Thomas Planing to drive the No. 7 Porsche 963 along with a second driver who has yet to be confirmed.
Both Porsche customer hypercar teams will also be participating in the test, with Pietro Fittipaldi driving the No. 38 Hertz Team JOTA car and LMP2 driver Rene Binder joining Julian Andlauer in the Proton competition.
Meanwhile, Ferrari is currently participating in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe with GTE-Am race winner Lil Waddu, and AWS Endurance Cup driver Robert Schwartzman will be behind the wheel of the No. 51 Ferrari 499P. Become.
This will be Waddu’s second time behind the wheel of an LMH car, having been selected to drive the championship-winning Toyota at last year’s rookie test.
Meanwhile, Peugeot will ask Stoffel Vandoorne, Mikkel Jensen and junior driver Mart Jacobsen to pilot the two cars.
Five teams have entered LMP2 (Prema, United Autosport, JOTA, Europol Competition and Team WRT), but most of them have not yet confirmed their drivers.
Depending on the outcome of the LMP2 title race, WRT, Inter Europol or United will have nominated driver Vallone in their car.
Meanwhile, Prema will welcome bronze-rated drivers PJ Hyett, Paul-Lou Chatin and Harry Tincknell, while bronze-rated driver Daniel Schneider will drive for United.
Current FIA F2 driver Clement Novalac will be behind the wheel of InterEuropol’s No. 34 car.
There are four cars entered from the GTE-Am team, with Corvette Racing hosting Dokin and Nicky Catsburg, AF Corse hosting Christoph Ullrich, International GT Open race winner Nicola Marinangeli, GT3 ace Lorenzo Patrese will be driving three Ferraris.
