What happened yesterday?
The big news of the day was Dheeraj Bomadevara, who became the first Indian to qualify for the Paris Olympics in archery by winning the silver medal at the Asian Continental Qualifying Tournament held in Bangkok.
Bomadevara was the only Indian in contention after senior Tarundeep Rai was eliminated in the last eight, but the 22-year-old did not disappoint and reached the final with two consecutive wins.
However, India was unable to secure a spot as Ankita Bakat was eliminated in the quarterfinals and she lost to Jiyodakorn Abdusatlova (Uzbekistan) in the women’s individual category.
