The Jets have allowed a league-low eight offensive touchdowns in nine games this season. His last two games have been nothing, both losses.
The Jets held a players-only meeting on Tuesday, the team’s off day, to discuss the matter.
“the men spokeAnd we had the floor,” wide receiver Garrett Wilson said on his weekly appearance on ESPN New York Radio, via ESPN’s Rich Cimini. “It was just us. We have to make sure we’re all on the same page about where we are and how we get out of this funk. That was exactly the message. A message from one of my teammates is always going to be different. It always resonates a little more.”
Jets coach Robert Saleh acknowledged Monday. change was neededHowever, these changes do not include replacing quarterback Zach Wilson or offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. Wilson’s passer rating of 74.6 ranks 30th in the NFL as he has thrown five touchdowns and six interceptions.
The only change so far is the release of running back Michael Carter.
Garrett Wilson said the players are “really disappointed in what they’ve put on the field offensively so far this season.”
Starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers continued: coming back this seasonbut if the Jets lose it, what’s the point?
So athletes are hoping team meetings will help them snap out of their funk and get back to racing.
“I don’t want to finish the season and look back and say I should have done it sooner. . . . So let’s talk about it now,” Garrett Wilson said. “We hope it will lead to results, but the reality that we are doing it and in terms of calling a players-only meeting to discuss it, nothing is guaranteed. We have to act and it is important to us so we are taking the right steps and turning over every stone.”
