Jett Reynolds, 19, is on a one-year contract and will race a 250 for ClubMX in 2024. The decision to only sign him to a one-year contract was because the rider wanted the opportunity to develop under pressure.
“I want to prove myself and I have one season to do it,” Reynolds said in a press release. “The pressure is on me to perform and achieve goals that I have had for a long time.”
Reynolds plans to run a full season of Monster Energy Supercross and Pro Motocross.
Reynolds, who started riding motorcycles at the age of six, had a successful career in amateur racing before making his professional debut in the Pro Motocross series this season. In fact, he won his first race in a Cobra he competed in in his Junior Dodge Nationals.
Reynolds’ first of four professional starts came in the 2023 season opener at Fox Raceway in Pala, California. He finished that round in 14th place overall, finishing 12th in moto 1 and 16th in moto 2, earning points in both motos. Reynolds would pick up another top-20 finish at Red Bud MX Park in Buchanan, Michigan. However, he never contended for the win in either of these motos and his expectations were unduly high.
Reynolds, who was on Team Green at the time, had his contract not renewed after finishing 22nd at Hangtown and 44th at Thunder Valley.
That created the opportunity to move to ClubMX and contributed to his desire to prove himself.
“My first trip to the ClubMX facility was interesting,” Reynolds said. “I was curious about how one could live in such a small town, which is a big change from my life in California. I checked to see if I would be able to live here and was immediately convinced.
“I’m going to take responsibility every day, without distractions, and by whatever means necessary to be successful. This place is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before, and the track is at the next level. , the bikes are incredible and people are helping me in any way they can.”
As a hybrid team and coaching facility, ClubMX contributes to the skill-building process of riders.
The challenge of regaining confidence is shared by rider and team.
“Jett is one of the racers who can take advantage of the focus we can provide,” team owner Brandon Haas said. “There’s no question he knows how to ride a bike. Now it’s up to us to figure out how to get him back to winning ways.
“This will be a good test for us and we are fully committed to making it a success.”
