Bahrain – Roadworks are currently underway to provide a sewerage network to Block 324 in Juffair as part of a major road improvement plan.
Saeed Bader Alawi, head of road projects and maintenance at the Ministry of Works, said the project is part of the region’s infrastructure development.
The plan includes the construction of a pumping station and the addition of a main wastewater pipe across the Al Fateh Highway.
It will also enable properties in the area to connect to the sewerage network following the recently completed construction of a sewage conveyor line from Juffair to Ghraifa.
Allawi said the second part of the project will include reconstructing 3 km of roads in the area and building an integrated stormwater drainage network, in addition to works to transport and protect services in the area. said.
The project also includes asphalting the roads and brick paving the sidewalks, providing safe space for pedestrians and bike paths, as well as constructing frontage roads.
Other elements include improving parking spaces, lighting levels, installing traffic and warning signs on roads, installing irrigation lines and carrying out “beautification works” in the area.
