Liverpool vs Arsenal player ratings were a lot of fun to present as the two title favorites were treated to a festive treat at Anfield.
The match ended 1-1 as Gabriel’s early header was canceled out by a powerful strike from Mohamed Salah, giving both teams a chance to win, but Jurgen Klopp and Mikel Arteta’s side both had a point. would be fully satisfied.

Liverpool player ratings
Alison: 6 – Could Gabriel’s header have sent him off his line? perhaps. Everything else is solid.
Trent Alexander-Arnold: 7 – A magnificent pass and central role for Salah’s goal. I should have won, but the ball went up a little and hit the bar. He’ll be disappointed with that finish.
Ibrahima Konate: 6 – Caught out of position for Gabriel’s goal, but made some great blocks in the second half.
virgil van dijk: 7 – Stretched at times, but recovered well and settled things down after a sloppy start.
Kostas Tsimikas: 6 – In the first half, he collided with Klopp on the ground on the sideline and was sent off with what appeared to be a serious shoulder injury.
Dominik Szoboszlai: 7 – Had a lot of important defensive work, had some chances in attack, but didn’t quite select the right options. worked hard.
Wataru Endo: 6 – He closed the gap well and after a slow start he found the rhythm of the game.
curtis jones: 6 – Even in the chaos, he continued to run hard and tried to get on the ball.
mohamed salah: 9 – His class of finishing in goal was incredible. Liverpool launched a counterattack when they were close to winning. He carried Zinchenko’s jersey number throughout the match.
Cody Gakpo: 6 – Drifted in and out of the game, couldn’t get on the ball enough to make anything happen.
Luis Diaz: 6 – see above. He failed to make an impact and retired midway through the second half.

Joe Gomez (Tsimikas, 35 minutes): 6 – Struggling early against Saka, but bounced back and almost scored. solid.
harvey elliott (On for Diaz, 68 minutes): 6 – Didn’t get on the ball enough, but was always available and tried to make things happen.
ryan graven birch (On for Jones, 68 minutes): 6 – Successfully won the ball back and solidified the midfield situation.
darwin nunes (Gakpo, 68 minutes): 6 – We didn’t get the ball in the final third, but we tried hard.
Arsenal player ratings
david raya: 6 – Beaten a little too easily by Salah at the near post? Maybe. His command when he came to collect the cross.
ben white: 6 – He did his best on defense, but couldn’t contribute much on offense. A solid outing.
William Saliba: 6 – It was fine all the time and I didn’t let Gakpo smell it. It was good to have Nunez with him during his important departure from Liverpool.
Gabriel: 7 – Scored an early goal, stood firm in central defence, and set an example.
Oleksandr Zinchenko: 5 – The match against Salah was a really tough match. There were some turnovers at the goal and some sloppy giveaways.
Martin Odegaard: 7 – Handles the ball elegantly early on. We were lucky to avoid a potential handball penalty. It went well.
Declan Rice:9 – He was there whenever Arsenal needed him to cover mistakes, cut out passes and prevent Liverpool from taking control of the game. He’s a monster at winning back and using the ball well.
Kai Havertz: 5 – Really struggled to get on the ball and influence the game. In the final stages when he was aiming for a penalty kick, he was taken down too easily.
Bukayo Saka: 7 – Great first half, but gave Tsimikas and Joe Gomez problems. It’s faded a bit, but it’s always a threat. Liverpool doubled down on him.
Gabriel Jesus: 6 – Successful in retaining the ball early on and continuing the attack, but then Konate and Van Dijk took his number.
Gabriel Martinelli: 5 – A subdued display after a few early flickers of promise. In the first half, Saka slipped through and Alisson missed his line, wasting a big chance.

Eddie Nketiah (Martinelli on, 68 min): 6 – Didn’t see much of the ball, but when he did, he held it well.
Leandro Trossard (On for Jesus, 78 min): 6 – Had some good runs, but like Nketiah, didn’t see much of the ball.
