Luke Littler Bahrain plans to ‘get back to business’ following situation fergie Reprimand and encouragement.
Darts’ hottest sensation has been on a sensation since competing in the £500,000 Ally Pally World Final, where he lost to Luke Humphries.
A few days before his 17th birthday, Littler will play Hong Kong’s Man Lok Leung in the first round of the Bahrain Darts Masters.
It was only last weekend that he met legendary football manager Sir Alex Ferguson behind the scenes on a trip to watch his beloved Manchester United.
Littler, 16, said: He was invited by Warrington Wolves to go to a Manchester United match and meet Sir Alex Ferguson.
“It was really great to meet him and he said some nice things to me about staying committed and continuing to believe in yourself.
“My life and my family’s lives have changed and I am grateful for the opportunity I have been given.
“Now I’m back to work.
“Since the World Championship final, I have settled down and haven’t thrown many darts.
“But I’m confident that once I get into the practice room, I’ll be fine.
“I always like to play, but after the World Championships I wanted to run away and that’s what me and my family did.
“Hopefully we can have a good event here to get back to playing.
“I don’t have any specific goals. I just have to see how the darts go.”
In his first match as the reigning world champion and new world No. 1, Humphries will face home star Abdullah Saeed, with the winner advancing to the quarter-finals at the International Circuit in Sakhir.
