Hyundai recalls 17,670 Santa Fe vehicles

Hyundai began a recall in February 2023 for 17,670 Hyundai Santa Fe vehicles produced between January 30, 2021 and October 15, 2022. The recall was due to a defect related to the front seat belt tensioners. In certain crash scenarios, the airbag detonator may activate and increase the pressure in the air generator of the front seat belt tensioner. This pressure overload can cause components to rupture, putting occupants at risk. The recall was scheduled to last until February 1, 2033 for imported vehicles and until January 10, 2033 for domestically assembled vehicles.
Ford recalls 3,223 Everests and Explorers
