After missing out on the Pac-12 championship, the No. 8 Oregon Ducks (11-2) will play the undefeated No. 20 Liberty Flames (13-0) in the Fiesta Bowl. The Flames are playing their first season in Conference USA, and it’s been a great season. They won the conference championship and have yet to lose a game. However, they have yet to play a top-50 offensive line in college football. Oregon will undoubtedly be the toughest competition Liberty will face all season.
Not only will Oregon be a tough challenge for Liberty, but Oregon will also be playing with something to prove. The two losses to Washington were by a combined six points. They came very close to qualifying for the College Football Playoff, but ultimately fell just short. They will play like crazy. Even without star wideout Troy Franklin, Oregon State’s offense has the talent to roll any team in the FBS.
Here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 Fiesta Bowl.
College Football Playoff:Yes, Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh can be weird and frustrating. But college football needs him.

Sportsbook Wire points out that the Ducks are 5-1 against the spread this season when they were favorites by 18 points or more. Oregon State’s only loss this season was against Washington, so it shouldn’t be too hard to imagine a win against Liberty, even with the Flames’ perfect record.
CBS Sports: Oregon ML
CBS Sports staff said, “The Flames weren’t tested with this type of offense this season because they didn’t face a top-50 scoring offense all year. Oregon not only has more talent; , did a much better job.” ”
Fox Sports: Oregon ML
Brian Fisher said, “Even if Bo Nix and several other NFL players opt out of this game, Dan Lanning’s defense will not be able to keep up with Jamie Chadwell’s offense as the Flames look to limit them.” “Please continue to participate in the chess game of trying to stop the movement of the world,” he wrote. He finished his first year in C-USA undefeated. ”
Bleacher Report: Oregon 43, Liberty 24
David Keyon said, “Between coach Jamie Chadwell’s unique system and quarterback Kaidon Salter’s dynamism, Liberty has a really fun offense. The team has scored 38 or more points in seven consecutive games. But Oregon has largely avoided the opt-out trend and expects Bo Nix to play, but don’t overthink this.”
