Peruvian Touring and Automobile Club launches ‘save lives’ campaign for safer roads
The Touring Automobile Club of Peru (TACP) has recently launched the “Save Lives” campaign to promote awareness and safety during the process of obtaining a driver’s license.
According to the Peruvian National Police (PNP), there were 42,784 traffic accidents in the first half of 2023, resulting in 1,518 deaths and 28,370 injuries. TACP aims to address human factors such as recklessness and speeding, which are the main causes of accidents. Cars are most often involved in these accidents.
The initiative, led by Touring’s Assessment Center, highlights the importance of a rigorous assessment process to ensure only well-prepared drivers are granted licenses, ultimately reducing the risk of accidents. and save lives.
Saida Jeri, Director of the Touring Evaluation Center, emphasized that the campaign focuses on promoting awareness and responsibility regarding road safety, stating: “Every year we see an alarming increase in road accidents due to lack of awareness. .That’s why we started this campaign.” This social responsibility campaign. ”
