The Monster Energy Supercross Series will continue racing with a purpose in 2024 after announcing three themed nights in 2024.
Last year, the Pro Motocross series celebrated its 50th anniversary, and this year it’s Supercross’ turn, offering additional theme nights to the program. Supercross held its first race in 1974 at the Los Angeles Coliseum, and was won by 16-year-old Marty Tripes. In September, Jett Lawrence took moto by storm at age 20, winning the 2023 Supermotocross title.
Round 3 will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Supercross, with each team switching to a classic design and livery.
Military Appreciation Night will be held in Arlington, Texas during Round 7 of the 17-race calendar. Riders and teams are encouraged to sport graphics and coloring inspired by men and women who have previously and currently served in any military branch.
Game 14 at Nissan Stadium will be played at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, as it has been since 2019. This will be the home race for Supercross’ longtime charity partner in Memphis, Tennessee. The children’s hospital has partnered with Supercross for the past eight years. Last year, these efforts combined raised more than $1 million.
This round will be themed around the “Love Moto Stop Cancer” program. The bikes in this race will be adorned with artwork from children at the hospital. After the race, many items will be auctioned off. In 2023, St. Her Jude raised her $130,000 in this effort. A year-long text donation campaign to support St. Jude will begin with a second round in San Francisco.
