Construction continues in earnest on the future home of cancer treatment provider Tennessee Oncology in Midtown, with a permit allowing groundwork to begin.

The future five-story building will house space related to oncology, infusions, imaging, pharmacy and other clinical services. The 200,000-square-foot building, which includes three levels of underground parking, will also house the headquarters of Tennessee Oncology’s parent company, One Oncology.
The project address is on both two-parcel lots. 316 and 322 22nd Ave. N., the property’s owner, Midtown Medical LLC, shares an address with Tennessee Oncology’s headquarters at 2004 Hayes St., also in Midtown. Tennessee Oncology, founded in 1976, leases the space.
A previous entity affiliated with the LLC paid $13.12 million for the two properties in two separate transactions in 2021, according to Metro records.
Birmingham-based Johnson Healthcare Real Estate is developing the site and will manage the building once construction is complete, according to a release. Tennessee Oncology and Johnson Healthcare have collaborated in the past, including the development of the Seton Building on Ascension Rutherford’s campus.
Trust Bank provided a $93.3 million loan, according to Davidson County deed documents. Nashville-based architecture and engineering firm Gresham Smith (design) and the New York-based field office of Turner Construction (general contractor) are participating in the project.
Inglewood area property is on the market for $2.96 million.
An East Nashville commercial property located about five blocks west of Riverside Village is on the market for about $2.96 million.
The principal address for this three-lot property, which offers a 10,000 square foot fully leased commercial building, is: 3101 Gallatin Pike and a total of 1.2 acres. The site also includes a 3,920 square foot building that is not leased and is part of the property.
The two buildings are located across Gallatin Pike from the building that houses the American Legion Englewood Post 82, which opened in 1950 and 1992, respectively, and is known in part for hosting live music. It’s across the street. East Trinity Lane is two blocks south of the property for sale.
Cash America Pawn and Inglewood Title Loan operate out of the facility’s main building.
Metro records show the property is owned by JDP (John David Peppers) Properties and related entities acquired it in 1983 for $65,000. According to his Linkedin page, Peppers is a self-employed Franklin attorney.
Peppers has hired Matthews Real Estate Investment Services (Hat Cook, Clay Smith and Greg Cavoklis) to handle marketing of the property.
Centennial Park Area Project Progress
Work appears to be progressing on a three-story, 10-unit home being considered for property owned by the Metroparks Authority near the Centennial Dog Park.

Property 3136 is owned by Charlie Phillips, who also owns Gallatin-based Volunteer Builders. The company will act as the developer for the 3140 site, called Parthenon Frates, according to documents filed with Metro.
The document states Zionsville, Ind.-based TARR Group will serve as engineer and landscape architect, and Dryden Architecture of Nashville will handle design work. This document does not contain detailed renderings.
Phillips purchased the 3,136 property in June 2021 for $1.4 million, and at the same time purchased three other properties in the Hillsboro West End neighborhood for a combined $1 million, according to Metro records. The Parthenon Street site is currently zoned for up to five homes. Once the rezoning of 3140A Parthenon Ave. is complete, Metro and Phillips will be able to conduct a land swap. The process also involves property owned by Metro Parks at 3138 Parthenon Avenue.
Another property on this block (3140B Parthenon Avenue) is also residential and is owned by Benjamin Brown. Metro Parks owns the land to be completed at 3142 Parthenon.
This exchange would give Metro two contiguous properties (Browns and eventually Phillips) bounded on the north, east, and west by Park Service-owned land, giving Metro even more contiguous park land than it currently has. will be provided.
