Broward County, Florida – Auto industry visionary Rick Case was inducted into the prestigious FADA Hall of Fame by the Florida Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) on Wednesday.
Case served as founder and chief executive officer of Rick Case Automotive Group for 60 years, beginning his pioneering journey as a dedicated and passionate salesman.
Mr. Case’s relentless pursuit of excellence and unparalleled salesmanship have resulted in outstanding results. One of those things is that he holds the world record for selling the most Honda cars in a month, with his staggering 1,222 cars, according to FADA.
Mr. Case, who died in 2020 at the age of 77 after a battle with cancer, went on to become a leading automotive retailer after creating standard warranties for numerous manufacturers and revolutionizing the industry’s approach to customer satisfaction and products. He was praised by FADA as one of the best marketing minds. reliability.
In 1996, when Hyundai was struggling in the U.S. market, Case introduced the revolutionary idea of a 10-year, 100,000-mile warranty. The concept has become a standard warranty for many manufacturers and revolutionized the industry’s approach to customer satisfaction and product reliability, according to a FADA news release.
Case and his wife, Rita, expanded their automotive empire to include 14 dealerships in South Florida and Atlanta.
Rick and Rita Case have developed and led fundraising efforts that have raised more than $100 million for South Florida organizations and have made an impact through numerous philanthropic efforts.
In 1982, The Cases launched Bicycles for Kids and distributed over 125,000 new, gently used bicycles to children in need during vacations in South Florida and Atlanta. Rick Case also helped establish his 12 Boys & Girls Clubs in Broward County, serving 12,000 members.
In 1991, he partnered with the South Florida Automobile Dealers Association to launch the Fort Lauderdale International Auto Show, which helped raise more than $5 million for Boys & Girls Clubs. He also founded and directed the Boca Raton Competition He d’Elegance. He is the world’s largest charity-run competition, and he has raised more than $10 million for Boys & Girls Clubs.
The Case family continued to develop Rick’s philanthropy. In 2023, the family established the Rita and Rick Case Family Fund at the Community Foundation of Broward to ensure support for initiatives that have a significant impact on children, families, education and health care.
