Harry Souter and Australia continued their preparations for the AFC Asian Cup with a 2-0 friendly win over Bahrain on Saturday.
– Leicester City’s Harry Souter played for Australia on Saturday
– The centre-back played 90 minutes in the 2-0 win against Bahrain.
– Graham Arnold’s footballers were preparing for this month’s AFC Asian Cup.
Ahead of the final in Qatar later this month, the Socceroos traveled to Abu Dhabi’s Baniyas Stadium this weekend to prepare for their group stage match against India, Syria and Uzbekistan.
Graham Arnold’s side took the lead in the 35th minute with an own goal from Amin Benadi, before Mitchell Duke’s goal in the 61st minute sealed the match for Bahrain. Sarter It was his 22nd appearance on the national team and he played the full 90 minutes.
The Leicester City centre-back will be hoping to feature again when next Saturday’s Group B match against India at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium (kick-off 11.30am GMT) begins. Australia has won this tournament once in 2015.
